I have enjoyed growing herbs for fifteen years, but never could get a rosemary or bay tree to grow. I talked with the local nursery. I was told to make the bed out of topsoil, peat humus and cow manure. At the time the nursery woman said she had a bay tree six feet tall, I did not believe her, as I said mine ALWAYS died. Here is proof mine are growing, and my bay tree is a little close to the house, but I thought if it lived it would be small. No! Its over six feet now. I cut off small stem of the rosemary and the bay tree, about six inches long and just put them in pots. They develope roots and when friends stop by they usually go home with one.
