I painted this sign years ago. I just love the old song, and keep above a doorway in my kitchen, for it just makes the day Happy!

  1. Hi Katherine…I love your sign! Many years ago, when my son was only 9 months old, he became very ill and I rushed him to the ER. He had an extremely high fever. While his Dad and I waited for his pediatrician to get there, so they could do a spinal thing to see if he had meningitis, I walked up and down the halls of the ER, with him in my arms, singing that song over and over. It seemed to be the only thing that helped calm both him and me. He spent 4 days in the hospital with antibiotics going in through an IV. They never could find out what was wrong…thank goodness it wasn’t meningitis. When ever I hear that song, I think of my son…who is definitely the “sunshine of my life.” :-) Susan

  2. I love the sign and also the doll sitting next to it. Your tea party was set so lovely it made me want to come, and I don’t even like tea! Now, invite me for a diet pepsi and now we’re talkin’….

  3. I sang “You are my Sunshine” to both of my babies, and to my grandbabies also. When my oldest granddaughter was 5, I was singing to it to my youngest grandchild, and the oldest said “No, I am your Sunshine”! Love your sign. laurie

  4. Love your sign,,now that I read this I’ll be singing this song all night..hugs and smiles Gloria

  5. Love you sign and the little doll sitting next to it! I love making little dolls like that.

This message is to Susan: Your son was truly blessed. I know what it’s like going through something like that. My son did have encepholitis (it’s like meningitis). He was in a coma for 4 days and they told us he was going to die. When his Grandmother came to see him in intensive care, she said “Chad this in Naunie” he sat up, opened his eyes, and reached for her! He is also truly blessed. God is good.
