SPRING INTO LIFE

I am enjoying Spring, while recovering:
I am sharing Spring here on the farm!
Enjoying a Butter Bricke Scone compliments of Victorian House of Scones and a cuppa of Rose of Venice Tea compliments of Vintage Tea.

Brianna is my little Granddaughter, I saved from the creek!
Where did my pecan go, Granna?

Hubby has boiled Craw fish, every weekend! Hubby is so proud of his Mississipi Craw fish!
My daughter, Jennifer in my old fashion Kitchen, eating craw fish from our pond.
The table behind, by the stair case, is in a make over mode! Soon as I am better.

My yellow Iris blooming

A rose bush I rooted last year, I formed it into a shape of a wreath. I think it is a trellis rose, above the fence I have roses growing, so a wreath is formed. Buds are on it, I can’t wait to see the color of the blooms.

This little white flower, I have been trying to get it to grow as a grown cover, no I have no idea what it is. Pine cone is there trying to keep the chickens from scratching it from the ground. lol

My goats, they love to play on the wood pile in the back.

My guard dog, she is my friend!

My purple Iris blooming
Here I am feeding Big Red, my rooster. The little red hen may want to eat from my hand too! No only Big Red!

These pink flowers, bloom all winter and summer. I just love them, but do not know what they are. On the bottom is my rust Iris and purple Iris. Just all so lovely!

Just wanted to let you all know, I have never got so many Birthday Wishes, not only on my Blog Website, but on all of your Blog Websites that joined my Tea Party. Thank you so much, for all your lovely words, you all have let me know what wonderful friends, I have in Blogland!

  1. Hey Sweetie, It’s great to read a post from you!! Still praying for total recovery!! Take it easy, and don’t overdo!!

So precious to see a photo of you and Brianna!! So glad you were there for her!! God is so good. I saved a little boy at a local spring who was drowning about 5 feet from the stairs. He was panicky, but fine…just ran off to find his parents. If I hadn’t been there he would have stayed under and floated down the run where no one would see him. Praise God, I saw him!!

    Love and hugs, sweetie!!
Just delighted that you’re doing better!!
    Becky

  2. Lady, it is nice to see you getting in on the fun… I myself is just taking a quick lunch break from online finals and it was to see your name on Mr. Linky at Susan’s!

Your granddaughter is darling and your daughter and hubby’s so cool for loving crawfish! I love them too!

  3. Awwwwwww, sweet sweet goats. So many people [ones I know anyway] don’t like ‘em, but I sure do. They’re a neat creature. And Katherine, your flowers are fabulous…but I love flowers. Period. In fact today I have a collage of 13 flowers in our yard too if you’d like to stop by. And I can’t wait to see the rose wreath,—–I hope you let me know when you post a photo of it in bloom.

    Happy Thursday.

  4. Hi Lady Katherine, I think everyone is sleeping today! ;) Everyone I’ve visted to comment it’s like there’s very few comments and that’s really unusual. Your garden today is absolutely GORGEOUS! Your daughter must be so indebted to you for saving her little baby girl…and I’m sure you are glad you could do it too…May God continue to mend you quickly. Be blessed today! ~CC Catherine

  5. Its good to hear from you and read about all the simple pleasures you’re enjoying. I think the white flower might be Alyssium. Can see the blue ones well enough to guess.

I am in LOVE with your chickens, and that is one handsome rooster. I’d love to keep chickens… maybe someday. I keep reading about it.

And Howard is finally home from the bakery– but he ate ALL the pastries on the way home, so his shirt is full of powdered sugar. :-)
But he says he saved me from having too many calories, and was just being gallant.

Oh my…if he only knew how I use him for crazy stories!

    Be well, friend! Cass

  25. Hi Katherine! I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling better! You’d better take care of yourself – seems you’ve been the busiest one! Love all of your beautiful flowers and how you’ve trained the rose to be in the circle! The goats are just the cutest little things! What a precious doggie, too!
You’re in my prayers, Dear ONe!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  26. Thanks for the encouragement Katherine. After going to 4 estate sales I came home and slept for 2 hours. I am barely keeping up with the blogging, but doing my best. I hope next week will be better. You take care too!

  27. I enjoyed seeing your pictures, love the purple, and the yellow iris!

Enjoy your sheep! Have you ever read A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by Phillip Keller, it is one of my favorite books, tells all about sheep and how we are so much like them!

    Katherine

  28. Whenever I see Iris, it always reminds me of my grandmother who grew them. Down in Illinois they bloom around the end of May. I would help her gather them along with some other flowers in tin cans to put on family graves for what she called “Decoration Day”- what is now called Memorial Day.

And I love seeing your chickens and all the other animals on your farm.

Thanks for coming by my place to see my soup tureen. I hope you can find one in a thrift store, too!

Have a great weedend! Love seeing your grandbabies too! So sweet!!

    Hugs,
    Linda C

  29. Thanks for the birthday greetings, Lady Katherine. How are you? I hope you are getting well rested and getting stronger. Have a wonderful weekend!…Christine

  30. Good morning! The doors actually swing open, which I’m glad because if they didn’t, I’m sure they would be broken by now. :0)
To use a French Press, you put the grounds and water water in, wait 4-5 minutes, then use a push down strainer to separate the grounds from the coffee. You can find them at Target.
