Beginnings of an Old General Store- Cafe

Welcome to the 73rd Tea Time Tuesday
In the next few week I will be sharing the remodel of our
Old General Store/Cafe
First day of owning the store
This is not the main entrance,
my husband had to have a photo with the horse shoe for Good Luck
These photos are what we came in too.
This first day all was torn out ready to start the process of a six month remodel
All the windows and doors were broken out.
This is the cafe part, which is now moved to another area
Lots of cleaning going on here. lol
Notice the cooler and cafe part has been moved, both are now in a different area.
 Can’t wait to show you!

This part is totally gone now, Thank you hubby!!!

The tearing out has began
The big cooler was sitting here, now its a cafe
The building had to be jacked up and support beams put underneath the building.
Floors and walls replaced
My husband and grandson working on the floor behind the counters
The next few weeks, I will share the long process of the Old General Store/Cafe remodel.
Stay Tuned for the finish will come soon!
My husband worked long hours, before and after my surgery. We still have many things to finish.
But it looks so much better as you shall see in the next weeks.
I had a bad fall this week, but I am OK just bruised, sore, and pulled loose some of my last surgery.
I Thank You all for all your lovely comments, and knowing I have very little sleep in the last two weeks.
I’m late getting this post up again.
Hope this week we shall be able to get more sleep. lol
My Doctors call me and check on me each week. One thing I can share with you, is I am loosing my voice.
They say the voice box is dysfunctional.  Side effect are dizziness, and numb hands and fingers.
Those who know me, know I am a talker. lol So this is no fun.
I have to keep talking and there is no cure, or medicine to help, just speech therapy.
Which I plan to overcome and not have to go speech therapy.
So should you call my voice is hoarse, but I am not sick with anything. lol
The worst bad news I have had in the last weeks is still too hard for me to talk about, but I have a positive attitude and I have beat many things in the last years. Even though the Doctor says this is impossible,
I know with God and my faith,, anything is possible!
Hold me in your prayers as I start to overcome, what is said can’t be done!

  2. I am sorry for your fall. Are you referring to vocal cord dysfunction? I see those patients here and there and it can be a troublesome issue for sure. I can’t wait to see these pictures, how amazing!

  3. So sorry you’ve received bad news from your doctors. I pray things will turn out good. I know what a strong person you are. And a fighter.
Prayers and thoughts are with you.

I can’t wait to see the cafe and didn’t you say part of it would be a tea room?
    xoxo bj

  4. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I have continue with speech therapy for the past 4 1/2 years since my accident and though my voice still does not sound the same, I no longer sound like Mini Mouse … doctor’s said it was impossible that I would come out of my coma .. but as Audrey Hepburn said – the word itself says Im Possible … faith and belief are the most powerful medicine out there … stay strong, and know that God holds the master plan. many blessings …xo HHL

    P.S. can’t wait to see the finished cafe/general store…

  5. Hello Katherine,
This looks like it is going to be an amazing Cafe/General Store – I am sure those watching the remodel are looking forward to the Grand Opening. I am sorry to hear of your fall – you have been through so much – You’re faith in God and determination will carry you through whatever – it is such a comfort to know God is always with us and gives us grace to walk through our lives.
Hope you have a very blessed week,
    Kathy

  7. Dear Katherine,
I am so sorry you have taken a fall. I hope you recover soon. God is the Great Physician and He has proven doctors wrong many times! Your country store and cafe are coming along nicely. Very exciting! Take care and I’m praying for you.

  8. Hoping for the fall or winter to have the Tea Room open, The Tea Room is in another part of the store. It like a little strip mall in the country.

  9. I have Faith. And Faith in YOU and YOUR Faith. You know what I mean—feel all better soon, and I’m so proud of all your vision and hard work and creativity!!

Wish I still lived close—I’d be in for tea every day.
