This shelf was stained and did hang above my stove.
Story goes hubby threw it out, after a few months in the rain, with me looking everywhere for it.
Hubby told me it was in the junk pile, he helped  nail it back together.
I did a brown and white crackled finish on this now hutch, which I use to serve Beverages.

Where I use to demonstrate weaving on my loom, and spinning on my spinning wheel.
The day after Thanksgiving every year.

My daughter bought the egg holder from a garage sale, I think it use to be a spice rack.
A little sign I painted years ago.

TEA PARTY IN THE CAFE

Welcome the 78th Tea Time Tuesday
Today I am sharing my granddaughter’s

 Place setting

My two granddaughter’s Brianna is now 4 and Hannah is 5
Happy Birthday Brianna
My two Grandson’s Creighton is 7 and Gage is 6
We had other girls as guests, but I do not have permission to add photos on.
 Brianna is
making a wish with Mama by her side
Just a few days before Brianna’s Birthday my daughter Jennifer had a Birthday.
Happy Birthday Jennifer
My daughter Suzette’s husband Shane’s Birthday is the same day as my daughter Jennifer.
Happy Birthday Shane
My daughter Jennifer has been sick, and a night at the hospital, I wasn’t sure the Tea Party was still on.
I had one hour after seeing the cake to go home for all the dishes, and plan this Tea Party.
The pink and white polka dot dishes are from Dirt Cheap, the white dishes, my husband grandmother’s everyday dishes. The Tea set is old bought at a garage sale a few months ago. We had one extra guest, we just made do as I didn’t have time to run home for more dishes. lol

The Roost Cafe in Leesburg Mercantile Remodel

Welcome to the 77th Tea Time Tuesday
Today I am sharing our Cafe in the Old General Store
The Roost Cafe in Leesburg Mercantile
We opened thinking we would finish remodeling, for it would be slow at first.
We were so wrong, we have been busy everyday,
with not much time to spare, or time to sleep.

In the middle we planned to build two more tables, for now it has one make shift table, as you can see the tablecloths are a little large, did not get to finish trimming or hemming the tablecloths.
The right side of the floor had to be rebuilt, I had  planned on faux painting lines and doing a darker stain to match the old tongue and groove flooring. Hopefully I will get to do it when we get more things together here.
My husband made the tables, I repainted, recovered the chairs,
and painted black polka dots on some of the wooden chairs.
I painted the faux brick walls, which were pres-cut rough wood. Some are crooked, my first try at painting faux brick.  But then the old store is crooked too. lol I planned to do a crack in the faux brick, maybe later.
One grape is hanging on the fence, I haven’t been able to go look for grapevine with green leaves and grapes, I wanted to decorate the top of the fence with.
The coffee center
Each morning the cafe fills up  about 5:30 am with coffee drinkers,
eating their bacon, egg, sausage and cheese biscuits.
Later we hope to add a Breakfast Buffet, and soon biscuits with sausage gravy.
Just inside the entrance of the cafe, looking out into the Old General Store
We used a lattice fence I bought for my yard, a few years ago on sale, but it is six feet tall and too tall for my yard, so we decided to use it for the cafe. I think it gives it an outdoor look, with privacy from the store customers.
Hanging above each table are French prints.
Another view of the Coffee Bar, I spray painted black,
and purchased at a garage sale for $15.00 with two stools.
Right side of the cafe, hold red lanterns, and a rooster candle in the middle with tin pierced shade
Each of the plates and holder on these tables came from Hobby Lobby
The  rooster napkin holders from Family Dollar
Each day for Lunch and Dinner the cafe is full.
Will soon need my Tea room remodeled, as it is as big as the cafe and old general store rooms.
We still have many other rooms, as the Old Genera Store is like a tiny strip mall in the country.
We have people driving an hour away to come and eat, Our Cafe has been very successful.
I am working on our menu, as many are requesting to take it to different cities and towns.
I do so wish for two more tables. I still have chairs to recover and paint.
Each table has large or small roosters, the trash can is now replaced with a tin tan one. lol
I want to add a window at the end, and a table there for now.
We are looking into to buying a buffet for this wall.
The red booths came with the store, so I just went with colors to match.
Here is our Super Hamburger, we have sold hundreds in the first month
Hope to get a count soon. lol
A closer view of the chairs with polka dots
While remodeling we found  in the ceiling a black metal vent, where an old wood stove used to be. Myy husband found on Craig List an old pot belly wood stove, just a month before, he going to add it for decoration this winter.
Entrance to the Roost Cafe inside the old general store
I have many more Roosters to add to the cafe, soon as I have more time and tables. lol
My friend Maryann, brought this plant in the teapot and painted the name of the old general store on it.
We love it Maryann!!!
Restroom, my husband built from old tin, and old wood from a barn.
Inside is modern plumbing. lol

Tea Time Tuesday

I will have Tea Time Tuesday up later today.
I have been at the hospital seeing my Daddy, whom had open heart surgery this week,
all week trying not to let him know how sick I been this week while he had his open heart surgery.
My Daddy is out of ICU but not doing well today, and as I have had a bad asthma attack, plus I haven’t been able to walk in three days. I went to visit him this afternoon, and decided to have my test done at the hospital Daddy is in. While after seeing him for a little while I went downstairs to the ER. There I spent many hours, just getting home now. All my test, cat scans, xray, ultra sound all found nothing, yet, I have a swollen knee,
and barley walking. I go to surgery this Wednesday. Which has nothing to do with my knee. lol
I will have Tea Time up every week on automatic posting for you to link to.
As I recover, I shall be reading your post and comments.
So be sure to check back later this afternoon for Tea Time Tuesday’s link
So sorry, I do not have the Tea up yet for you to link to,
I thought the Doctors were doing one small test, instead of keeping me most of the night through test.
There were just making sure everything is OK before my 8-10 hour long surgery this coming Wednesday.
See you soon
.

Just want to say

I just want to say, I have missed you all while I been sick from two accidents and now a fall! Doc says will take at least another month to heal. Then when I go back he will talk surgery again! Number 41
This day last year I was in the hospital having my 40th surgery, and almost died.
I am so happy to be here! My life is changing and my hubby says I have to get well Fast! lol
We have a new adventure happening soon and I can’t wait to share all with you!
I want to visit you ALL so much!
You all have made me so happy with all of you joining me for Tea Time Tuesday, The Beverage Center!

TEA WITH MARYANN

Welcome to the 28th Tea Time Tuesday

My friend Maryann came for a visit, and stayed the whole afternoon with me.
We had a little Tea and lots of conversation!
We haven’t seen each other in near a year. She gave me a call fifteen minutes before she arrived.
As we ran around straighting the house. I put on a kettle of water.
I went from room to room gathering accoutrement for our Tea.
As I had a Tablescapes going in one room, my parlor holding my hospital bed.
I was looking for a place to have Tea.
So the Family Room it was to be!
Now you will notice we are remodeling our 100 year old home and many things need to be done, like the French Doors do not have trim around them as of yet, Just look over the remodel.
For we had such a Lovely Time!
My friend, Maryann from Alabama
Yes, she tasted her Tea first, I then talked her into taking a little milk too! She loved it with milk!
With Time so little, and my family stopped by, no time to bake the scones,
I keep in the freezer for times like this.
I wanted to make a few sandwiches, but Maryann had a late lunch.
So I opted for Chocolate Wafer Cookies and Raspberry Sticks.
Thanks BJ at  Sweet Nothings for the wonderful tip on how wonderful these chocolate wafers are!
While searching Walmart for these rich chocolate wafers,
I spotted these wonderful raspberry sticks! They are divine!
Garnished with my spearmint and raspberries.
I served my favorite Vanilla Cream Tea. Which is so lovely with sweets.
I love to use this sterling silver tea leaves strainer.
Some say there is no place for a strainer at the Tea Table, Oh but I do love using it!  For I like to add my tea leaves to my teapot and pour the hot water in from the kettle, after I have tempered the teapot, by adding a little of the hot water and swirling it around and pouring it out of the Teapot. I then add one heaping teaspoon of tea leaves per cup and one heaping teaspoon for the teapot. I do love my Tea Strong, so always add a little more tea leaves and brew the same amount of time should you like your tea stronger. You can’t tell by how dark the color is, for having strong tea.  By adding the tea leaves to the teapot, doing so the tea leaves have enough room to expand. Some tea leaves infusers are small, lacking room for the Tea to expand. Most of my teapots have a strainer made in the spout, but I find the fine leaves will seep through.
You can see the small tea leaves in caught by the strainer.
I love the sterling silver ornate designs and notice the strainer has a little pot for you to sit the strainer on, so no mess is made on your tablecloth.
Tea Set, cups and saucers,  from Marshall’s
Metal Iron Tray, from Hobby Lobby
Tea Napkins, a set of six given by my sister, Gloria
Flatware: Renaissance Pattern reproduction, from Walmart
Table and chairs, garage sale finds  for$30.00

I sent  Maryann off with samples, of different flavored black, green and white teas.  I hope she is having many Tea Tasting, while she working/traveling with a friend!
I can’t wait to hear which Teas Maryann loved,
I know she is going to love drinking Hot Loose Leaf Tea!
What a lovely way to spend an entire afternoon with a wonderful friend and a lovely cup of Tea!
Even though we didn’t have the sconces, sandwiches, and cakes.
I enjoyed this Afternoon Tea so much my dear friend!
I will be joining Susan at Between Naps On The Porch
