Easter Picnic

Welcome to THAT’S MY CUP OF TEA
This Easter will spend the afternoon outdoors hunting eggs with our grandchildren.
We decided to have a picnic with just finger foods.
As you will see why we there is no flatware used
We will have iced tea, as it was a hot afternoon.
My whole family is to be here,
it’s been a while since we all had a gathering together as family
My daughters, and grandchildren help take out the dishes and set the tables.
My grandmothers pink roses in the background are blooming a few weeks early this year
By the end of next week they should be in full bloom
Hoping I can do a tea, as I usually do each year
I want to thank my daughters, son-in-laws, and my grandchildren
for setting up the tables.
I uploaded my photos and learning to size them in a different way, on WordPress.
My rabbit on the wagon is carrying egg cups, and dyed egg the grandchildren dyed.
My grandchildren also came up with the idea, and put them in the wagons.
Centerpiece: is my two rabbit wagons, and a bunch of star gazer lilies,
my daughter’s husband brought her.
Arbor of roses in background
Place setting of my Rabbit Birthday dishes, from Cracker Barrel
Charger from Walmart
Goblets from thrift store with napkin inside
I just love my rabbit wagon from Cracker Barrel
My friend Lene, stopped by, we sat at the tea table, between the picnic,
and the children’s table
Yes, I still look pale, and I have on makeup! lol
My grandchildren set up their table, and had to have the tea cups they always drink out of.
They picked out what they wanted to use on the tables
My grandchildren placed eggs all around a tray,
I was really proud of them,
setting both tables
Thank you for joining me for Tea, I hope you all had a lovely Easter.

My grandchildren are so excited about both tables!

This week a lovely gift from Laurie and Michael Lee, came in the mail.
Michael Lee West’s new book, Gone With A Handsomer Man, with a lovely inscription to me.
I have been laying on the old 1950’s turquoise sofa in the office at the store/cafe.
Reading away, it hard to lay the book down, for you want to know what is going to happen next to Tiny one of the characters in this wonderful book.
I am slowly recovering, but looking forward to the future, I believe to come.
Thank you all for your prayers!

Happy Easter

I hope you enjoy my Simple White Tea
As Spring approaches it time to bring out the white again.
This Tea could be for a Mother and Daughter,
 or Grandmother and Granddaughter Tea.

My Granddaughter’s hat on the back of the chair

On this chair sit my white hat, notice I used doilies on the chair seats
I love using this chrome teapot warmer, for it goes with everything.
My teapot sit on a charger, I do love to use a charger or
tray underneath my teapots, in case of spillage.

I love my sterling silver strainer, some think a strainer shouldn’t be used at the Tea Table.
Oh, but I adore using one, as I use loose leaf tea,
and loose leaf tea needs room to expand as it steeps.
My teapot is empty before the leaves have a chance to turn bitter.
Place Setting
I have used the cups many times, this is the first time I have used the chargers, which are the same pattern. The plate is smaller than a dinner plate, and larger than a desert plate. The plate and bowl are my husband’s Grandmother’s everyday dishes.
Flatware is my Renaissance Reproduction pattern
Cup, Saucer, and Charger I bought a few years ago from TJ Max
The 12×12 Tea napkins, I made
Tablecloth was a garage sale find many years ago
My Tea Set is from Ross

My three tier holds, my husband’s Grandmother’s everyday dishes from long ago.
I used faux ivy and white hand painted roses, which are shower curtain holders.

I wanted to show you the view out my French Doors!
I am very lucky to see this view every day from my 100 year old Craftsman Bungalow.
My chickens, now layinga dozen eggs day

My gulf coast native sheep
My ram is in another pasture

Lambs, Bella and Hope playing with Garfield
Bella was born the December 26th, 2010
Hope was born on Christmas Day 2010

Gulf Coast Native Sheep ready for feeding

Bella and Hope are so cute

My lambs, Hope, Pansy Lee, and Bella
Pansy Lee is in the middle, she was born just a few weeks after Bella and Hope
Pansy Lee was born a morning after, I had just lost a Ewe and her lamb the night before
I use to have a 100 plus sheep, another breed, and I have never lost an Ewe and Lamb in birth.
Pansy came here so tiny, and needing my help

LITTLE GIRL’S TEA PARTY

Welcome to the 48th Tea Time Tuesday
Today in my parlor my Granddaughter’s had a guest join them for a Tea Party
My Granddaughter Hannah, is four years old
My Granddaughter, Brianna is three years old
My friend Earlene’s Granddaughter, Maggie she is six years old
Earlene made a video of their Tea Party, I was not dressed, and hope she did not get me in the video! lol
I even made a few mistakes, for I have never been video during a Tea

The three girls are ready to start the Tea Party!

Cheese cake, Strawberry pastry, and two types of cookies.
Maggie and her Grandmother made the cookies today, as I got the table ready for Tea
The cupids I made from ceramics and painted years ago.
Notice the wonderful trunk, Maggie brought it full of dresses
The little girls loved looking at all the dresses in the trunk
Oh, yes they are planning another Tea Party!
Many to pick from!
What a lovely way to spend the afternoon, teaching little girls about Tea, Dresses, and Sheep!
I think Earlene and I enjoyed this Tea as much as the three lovely little girls!
As we served Hot Tea, I decided to pour, usually Hannah pours and serves. I know she was disappointed, for she always is the hostess when she an Brianna have Tea.
Brianna is thinking, I placed my napkin on the table, oh should I leave the table?
Strawberry preserves for the cheese cake is in a little crystal bowl
While they had the Tea Party, we talked of my sheep, and how I spin the sheep’s wool,
and knit, weave. We even looked out to the pasture to let Maggie see the baby lambs, next time we will visit the barn, for today it was too wet, to go out in their lovely dresses!
Brianna wears a dress from Maggie’s trunk
Hannah decided to wear a dress of her own
Maggie wore a dress from her trunk also
All the little girls in their fancy finery already for Tea
How they loved the shoes from Maggie’s trunk
Yes, they love Fancy dresses and pretty shoes
As they had Tea, I talked with each on how to stir the sugar,
and milk without making a jingling sounds in their teacup. How not use the sugar spoon to stir your own tea. Where to place your spoon after you have stirred your Tea. Then how to look in your Teacup as you sip your Tea, no we do not sip our Tea from a spoon.
They love pouring their own milk, and adding the sugar.
The little girls had Hot Tea, Tasha Tudor’s Breakfast Tea, the milk helps cool it down,
for safety, I did pour each cup. They loved seeing the tea leaves as they were caught in the strainer,
and placed back into it little cup.
What could be more lovely than seeing my Granddaughters, adoring their fancy dresses
Maggie and Hannah playing dress up, tie the bow on Brianna’s dress.
Yes, Maggie has invited them to come to a Tea Party in her play house.

Maggie is was so happy with her bow
Maggie, now takes the time to fluff out the dress
The girls are using a Tea Set, my sister gave to me years ago.
Notice the tea napkins, and the cupid napkin rings I made too.
The table cloth a resent find for $1.00 at a garage sale.
A sheep and lamb sits in the center, as I have 3 new baby lambs born.
A little place setting using demitasse teacups, and flatware
We talked of the spearmint leaves on the cream cheese cake,
 Yes, you can make,
Tea, I crushed a leaf and let Maggie smell
How Lovely and Charming are these three lovely girls!
Thank  you Maggie for coming to Tea!

GINGERBREAD and PEPPERMINT DISHES TABLESCAPE

Welcome to the 44th Tea Time Tuesday
Come into the land of Gingerbread Men and Peppermint Dishes
Every Christmas I have my family for Breakfast
Each year for the third year now, I add pieces to my collection.
My dining room table is full for Mother’s table, which the extra leaf is still missing. Oh but my grandchildren love to line up on the bench. I found six chairs this year at the annual Garage Sale for $40.00.
We shall pull up another bench to put in place of the chairs, so all 10 of us can fit with little elbow room.
I usually have the four grandchildren table set up in the little sun room behind the dining room.
Things are still out place, so the sun room is full, besides my grandchildren love Granna’s Gingerbread Land!
View toward the window and sideboard I built
The buffet on the right with the plate rack above I made and painted Gentleman’s Blue
I used two old drawers from my old kitchen island to make shelves for dishes, the bottom part of the buffet was bought at an auction, hoping to have it a new home soon as I find the buffet of my dreams.
View toward the China Closet my husband built onto an old closet, and added the old French Doors from our home.
On the backs of my chairs hang wreaths with a Gingerbread Man Chef
My daughter Suzette got me these wreaths, from Dollar General last year
The Gingerbread Girls and Chef are from Cracker Barrel
My candy tree I decorate for each season, I added lollipops,  from Dollar General this year
The little houses on the tree, I think came from Walmart this year
Cass at That Old House has one of these trees too, she told me last year it is for hanging Christmas Cards!
I bought at annual garage sale for $1.00
The little trains underneath, from Dollar General
My friend Kathy from Mississippi, gave me the Gingerbread Man on top,
I added a Santa hat and a lollipop
Girl Gingerbread Place Setting
Notice the cup is a girl from Cracker Barrel
The Gingerbread Girl Bowl with the Heart from Burke’s
Peppermint Plates and Desert Dish are from Cracker Barrel
The napkin is from Pier One
The Gingerbread Man napkin holder from Dollar General
The Green Sandwich Pattern Juice cup from Thrift Stores
I bought my daughter Jennifer boxes of Green Sandwiches pieces while traveling/working
So today even though she was not here I had a little piece of her heart with me.
The Gingerbread Man Cup and all the other dishes are from the stores as above
Centerpiece:
Gingerbread House on left from Bath and Body
The Gingerbread Chef Cookie Jar from Dollar General this year
The Gingerbread House on the right is from Cracker Barrel
The little Gingerbread Men setting on peppermint candles are from Dollar General

Tablecloths and Scarfs on the tables, buffet, sideboard are from Walmart, Burke’s, and Dollar Tree
All the peppermint candles are from Dollar General or Walmart
View toward the China Closet
See Christine, here is where I need another window to make a door,
for my China Closet
Old Dresser and shelf  I built from reclaimed wood from our walls
I gave it large crackle finish, I use it as a Beverage Center
Here you may have Hot Tea or Hot Chocolate
The Tea Sets are from Cracker Barrel
The Creamer and two sugar,(from Cracker Barrel) in the middle on a cake plate from Walmart
The sign says Grandma’s Treats
I used ruffled chargers from Walmart under the Tea Pots
This old dresser is set up for Sweets, the silver Kiss, from Walmart,
 holds chocolate to dip marshmallows.
The basket, and it’s lid is standing up is a pie carrier: from Cracker Barrel
I forgot to move the painting on the side of the old dresser,
was hoping Hubby would get around to hanging them.
Close up
On the sideboard are three cake plates and servers I used cake plates and bowls to stand these on.
Gingerbread Men Cake Plates on each side, are sitting on this  peppermint bowl, see the little gingerbread men feet? From Cracker Barrel
The Gingerbread Men Cake Plates and servers are from Dollar General
In the middle the cake plate sits on a peppermint cake plate, from Cracker Barrel
These were used for bacon, eggs, and toast
For Gloria, another close up you want of the Gingerbread ornaments that hang on the three tier server
I hope you enjoyed our Gingerbread Tablescapes we do every Christmas,
It so much fun to see the children’s joy in their eyes, in my Gingerbread land!

Now for the Goodies
On the top tier is Rice Krispies Treats molded into gingerbread men, and a wreath.
Made by my daughter, Suzette

I have been doing a Gingerbread and Peppermint Table Setting since 2008,
This is the first time I used my collection for a Tea.
Just so Yummy!
I collect each year more Gingerbread men, and peppermint.
My table and buffets will be covered with new things this year. I will show it next week,
for we have Christmas Breakfast with this setting and the Grandchildren love it!
Place setting with a Tea Cookie
They are so delicious!
I just adore these dishes!

Just Adorable, don’t you think??
Notice I have Drapes up! Yeah Hubby cut Ash Tree limbs,

TEA PARTY FOR A GIRL

WELCOME TO THE 31st TEA TIME TUESDAY
Early one morning my Granddaughter, Hannah and I set the children’s table,
for later in the afternoon, all of my four grandchildren were coming to visit.
Hannah  decided she wanted to have her breakfast on the the pretty table we set.
Hannah placed the Teapot on the Sunflower
What a wonderful idea, I said
My sleepy little four year old Granddaughter, Hannah
Notice on the back of each chair, we placed a large tea towels, we used for napkins,
for the grandchildren need a big napkin, Hannah says.
Hannah with her bacon and egg biscuit, orange juice and tea.
Hannah takes her big napkin off the chair
See how big the napkin is
Hannah tucked the napkin around her
Hannah decided it would be best if the napkin was tucked in her shirt
Now I am already to have my Breakfast Tea
Did you notice my green dragonfly metal basket,  I bought from Ross?
I am not sure what I’m going to use it for,
but wanted to show it for Show and Tell
Each Place Setting has a place card, for my grandchildren love to read their names

LITTLE GIRL’S TEA

Welcome to the 29th Tea Time Tuesday
One afternoon I found my granddaughters going through a box,
and setting this Tea Set out on the floor.
I bought this miniature Tea Set for my daughter, Suzette when she was just a little girl.
The Tea Set is sitting upon a platter that was my husband’s Grandmother’s.

I asked my granddaughters if they wanted to use this Tea Set for their Tea Party. They started loading up the platter and picking out dolls from the box for their Tea Party.

First I asked, May I please wash it up for you, for the Tea Set has been packed up a long time.
They helped dry each piece and were off to set their Tea Table.
My little Granddaughter’s placed each piece on the table cloth they picked out to use.
My granddaughters, Brianna is 3 years old, and Hannah is four years old.
Waiting patiently for me to capture their pictures.
Can’t you see they are saying, Please hurry Granna!
Hannah is the oldest, so she gets to pour the Tea.
Many spills, but a quick wash will bring out the stains.
Brianna is watching closely how Hannah pours the Tea.
Oh, the teapot lid fell off, Granna how do I hold it to keep it on again?
It a little hard to hold it on and reach across the table, next time stand by Brianna and pour her cup of Tea.  Don’t worry all is fine, you are doing a lovely job.
Brianna is so happy to have her cake and Tea already to sip!
Hannah is very proud of their Tea Table and so ready for her cup of Tea!
Now Granna, I can sip my Tea?
How wonderful it is to have two lovely Granddaughter that love to share Tea together!
If only Granna would stop taking pictures!
Thank you letting me share my lovely Granddaughters with you today.
For they make my heart sing every time they want to have Tea!
Sharing a wonderful Tea Time together!

I have not been able to visit much the last few weeks, I so want to, and know I missing so much.
I love reading each of your lovely comments.
Until next Tea Time.
