Easter Picnic

Welcome to THAT’S MY CUP OF TEA
This Easter will spend the afternoon outdoors hunting eggs with our grandchildren.
We decided to have a picnic with just finger foods.
As you will see why we there is no flatware used
We will have iced tea, as it was a hot afternoon.
My whole family is to be here,
it’s been a while since we all had a gathering together as family
My daughters, and grandchildren help take out the dishes and set the tables.
My grandmothers pink roses in the background are blooming a few weeks early this year
By the end of next week they should be in full bloom
Hoping I can do a tea, as I usually do each year
I want to thank my daughters, son-in-laws, and my grandchildren
for setting up the tables.
I uploaded my photos and learning to size them in a different way, on WordPress.
My rabbit on the wagon is carrying egg cups, and dyed egg the grandchildren dyed.
My grandchildren also came up with the idea, and put them in the wagons.
Centerpiece: is my two rabbit wagons, and a bunch of star gazer lilies,
my daughter’s husband brought her.
Arbor of roses in background
Place setting of my Rabbit Birthday dishes, from Cracker Barrel
Charger from Walmart
Goblets from thrift store with napkin inside
I just love my rabbit wagon from Cracker Barrel
My friend Lene, stopped by, we sat at the tea table, between the picnic,
and the children’s table
Yes, I still look pale, and I have on makeup! lol
My grandchildren set up their table, and had to have the tea cups they always drink out of.
They picked out what they wanted to use on the tables
My grandchildren placed eggs all around a tray,
I was really proud of them,
setting both tables
Thank you for joining me for Tea, I hope you all had a lovely Easter.

Anniversary Tea

Welcome to the 92nd Tea Time Tuesday
This week I am sharing our 34th Wedding Anniversary Tea Luncheon.
I wanted to do something special for my husband, but working everyday at the store, we have no time.
So I stayed up the night before and packed all the dishes to surprise him with this Luncheon Tea.
In our on cafe we celebrated our 34th Anniversary.

I picked some herbs to garnish, but forgot and left them at home.
My husband’s place setting,
Using my old crystal glasses, plates, and a silver charger.
The flatware has the initials of our last name on them as does the napkin holder
My place setting
The Cafe’s little rolls, also made into chicken salad sandwiches, They were so good!
One of the girls made him a salad, and we used a few rolls for his meal.

Steak just the way he likes it

Birds eye view
My husband was surprised, as I was setting the table, I told him he had to go cook his own steak. lol
Our Cafe’s little rolls made perfect little chicken salad sandwiches, The Crystal dish has apple parfait in it!
The plate is my Early American Prescut Crystal
My daughter, Suzette gave me this silver plated dish for Mother’s Day. I filled it with the Cafe’s Brownies, Cut bite size and covered in Crystallized Sugar, with Cheese Danish in the middle
I just love the pattern on the tea cup, and filled with my favorite Vanilla Cream Tea,
I do love this Tea with sugar cubes and milk.
This Tea set is made of ceramic, has the look of silver. My sister-in-law, Judy gave to me for my Birthday.
I have been saving it for a special occasion.
We have been childhood sweethearts, and best friends
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband, that been there for me
helping battle my heath issue. He is the greatest!

Cheers to 34 Years!

Thank you for joining my husband and I for our Tea!

Tea At Anchuca

Welcome to the 90th Tea Time Tuesday
A few weeks ago, we spent the day in Vicksburg, Mississippi with our grandson and oldest daughter.
After eating and visiting a few area we went to the mansion Anchuca, where my daughter will be getting married in November.
We happen on a luncheon the Red Hat Ladies from just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They and one of the owners of Anchuca which means Happy Home in Choctaw Language.  About 30 years ago I bought a house recipe box and wrote the words Anchuca/ Happy Home on it.
My daughter asked if I remember, when she told me she was getting married here at Anchuca.
Of course, I still have the recipe box.
The Red Hat Ladies wanted this photo for a recipe book they are writing. I did not get their address, so if anyone knows these ladies, Please leave me a comment, so I can email the photo’s on to them.
The dining room where my daughter’s reception will be held, as it is a small family wedding.
I just love all the doors, notice the brick floors in the photos
This table is set ready for a Tea Luncheon
As you enter the dining room, this is the first room you see, the ladies there gave me permission to take photos. Yes, Gage was a little bored here, lol until we went outside, where there are fish in the fountian
All my life I have longed for one of these chairs!! At the wedding I think I’ll have my photo taken in it!
The wedding will be held in the next photos, all this will be removed and placed with chairs
The guest will arrive here at the back of the mansion.

Anchuca Mansion front of the mansion

Here is where the bride and groom will stand.

Look Mama!

My daughter showing me what she wants for her wedding.
The Red Hat Ladies just out of Baton Rouge, La now will tour the grounds of Anchuca

A Day in Vicksburg for Grandparents Day

Welcome to the 86th Tea Time Tuesday

I want to share with you today, we had in Vicksburg, Mississippi for Grandparent’s Day.
The school was only having lunch, no program, as the seat was tiny and elbow to elbow.
We decided to spend our time with our grandson alone, taking him
to another place to eat beside where a museum of :
The Mississippi  Tug Boat is in process of being built.
My husband and grandson Gage
Across the street is Rusty’s River Front Grill, where we ate
Photos hang on the wall of what Vicksburg use to look like many years ago
I loved this photo with the women in their finery!
The old Mississippi River Bridge
Gage loved the train and boat
Photo of the Mississippi River frozen
Our daughter Jennifer surprised us, and joined us for lunch when she found out where we went
Jennifer and my husband had the oyster poorboy
Gage had the grouper fish, from Destin, FL
Gage and decided to leave Terry and Jennifer eating and took a walk around the grounds and over to the boat.
I loved the sun, and the tile tables
Granna and Gage off to see the boat again

 Mama, and Granpappy joined us
One last look at Rusty’s
We drove down to the old  Rail Road Station, which is being redone,
after the 1991 flood of the Mississippi River

You can still see water mark on the bricks where it flooded

As my leg is still swollen, I sat in the truck, while they all went down to see the Mississippi River from the banks. Gage says this was much better than staying at school and eating!
We drove one more trip to Anchuca to see the Mansion where my daughter is getting married,
I will show it soon.

TEA WITH LADY KATHERINE

Welcome to the 70th Tea Time Tuesday
This week I using my Birthday dishes outside on a stump,
from a tree that fell with tree feet of our home.
This would make a wonderful outdoors Easter Tea, but as I was born on Good Friday, my husband bought me this set of dishes from Cracker Barrel for my Birthday.
Here in the background is the part of the tree which fell during a storm.,
just the day before my birthday last year.
Vintage cloth, and cups, I tried several different vintage cups for this Tea

I adore this rabbit on the wagon, so many things you can use it for.
Filled with cupcakes in flower pots

AFTERNOON SUMMER TEA WITH OLD COUNTRY ROSES

Welcome to the 69th Tea Time Tuesday
Join in my garden with my lovely roses.
Today I am using my Royal Albert Old Country Roses Fine China.
I have been collecting the oldest pattern of this china,
I still need more dinner plates, for today I used my husband’s
grandmother’s everyday dishes with my china
This afternoon I decided to use a double cake stand instead of a three tier stand placed on a wicker table, with a lace topper and a red beaded round placemat
Close up of the desserts, and scones
The rose bush in the background is very fragrant, and blooms Spring through Fall
Top of the table set with Old Country Roses, silverware from garage sales,
a battenburg lace curtain used as a tablecloth
On the top tier, red velvet cake with roses and spearmint garnish
Second tier, chocolate candy, chocolate chip scones, chocolate chip cookies,
strawberry filled cookies, and strawberry preserves in a cup
I just adore the glass serving spoon in the cup of strawberry preserves,
I regret not buying more of these spoons from a thrift shop.
My Husband Aunt’s old green glider, makes a lovely place to sit
( I have bought an old green large iron table to use with this setting)
I can’t wait to do a Tea on the old table in the weeks to come.
Yes, the pieces could use a coat of  paint, but for now I shall enjoy them as they are

I love to serve my scones first, as they taste better while warm
I do love my old silverware pattern
The tea napkin, I made

I love this pattern of china so much, this is the first time, I have used it outdoors
I just adore using placemats on the chair seats
A different view
This rose bush has double it size in just the last few week since this Tea,
I have been rooting the stems, for it smells heavenly!

Would you like to have a scone?
Oh, someone has taken the spearmint garnish from the plate
I loved using my China outdoors, for I usually only use this china in my parlor
A lovely cup of Tea, my favorite Vanilla Cream Tea
Did you notice just a few simple pearls lay on the table?
The creamer just stands out in this photo
Close up of the red velvet cake sitting on an Old Country Roses Desert Dish
We can’t wait to sit down and have a lovely Tea!
Would love to have you join me!
A breeze was blowing, as you can see the tablecloth, perfect for a summer day of Afternoon Tea
See the white swing on the large stump,
my husband bought two swings at an auction,
one  swing sit on my porch, this one is to go underneath a tree
I do love my Royal Albert Old Country Roses Fine China

Wish you were here to join me for a lovely time having Tea
Many of you have asked how I am doing, with help I did accomplish putting this Tea together,
I am still recovering from surgery, I am getting a little stronger, but still many Doctor visits.
I have a few complications, but hoping soon I will be back to visiting all of you.
How I wish blogger would have a way I could comment on each of your thumb photo links.
They all look lovely, and I know I am missing so  many lovely Teas.
I have been spending days and nights at our Old General Store/Cafe, doing what I can to help get it open.
Soon I will have photos of what we have been up too.
I have not had internet there, hoping they get it in next week some time!

CRAWFISH and ICED TEA

Welcome to the 68th Tea Time Tuesday
Here in Mississippi it is near 100 degrees, a glass of iced Tea,
is very appreciated when having a crawfish boil in this heat.

Mississippi Pond Raised Red Swamp Crawfish
My Hubby has been expermenting with Mississippi State University, in rasing crawfish in a pond.
His first big catch of the season!

My Hubby with two five gallon buckets of his pond raised crawfish.
My Hubby and Son-In Law, Shane, taking the crawfish off the fire.  They are saying Hurry and take the picture the pot is hot!
Here is a pan full of cooked crawfish from Hubby’s pond.
My husband can boil, some really wonderful tasting crawfish!
All agree that get the pleasure to taste, not too hot, just right!
With a glass of iced tea!
Hubby little shed looks like a small old  time country store.
Some of my family enjoying the crawfish boil.
Hope you enjoyed our Family Crawfish Boil!

CREAM TEA IN MY ROSE GARDEN

Welcome to the 65th Tea Time Tuesday
With Lady Katherine
Welcome to my Rose Garden Tea
My Grandmother’s pink roses are in bloom. Last year I had Tea in my Garden,
which is my Tea Time Tuesday Logo. This year I will be having at least four different
Afternoon Tea Settings in my Garden.
I have been sharing these Teas in my Rose Garden in the last weeks.

Notice in the pink roses floating in my bird bath
See a little of my arbor of grapevine, and now the pink roses are starting to climb on it

I used my cream Heart Pierced dishes, from Ross
In this view, you can see on both sides of the arbor

My pink roses are a lot fuller this year, so lovely to look out at.
I used a white tablecloth and added my husband’s Aunt’s
off white sheers curtain for the topper
Place setting: Pierced Heart charger, and cup
My Husband’s Grandmother’s everyday dinner plate.
Flatware pattern: Renaissance reproduction, from Walmart
Napkin holder from Dollar Tree
12×12 Tea napkin, which I made
Added a place-card and a small pink rose

Close up of the table
Centerpiece: Tree Tier plates and a Pierced Heart Bowl of Roses
Centerpiece:
Pierced Heart bowl, with my Husband’s Grandmother’s bowl inside with pink rose floating
Centerpiece: Three Tier off white dishes, from Fred’s Dollar Store
On the bottom Tier: bite size chocolate chip scones and butter brickle scones
On the middle Tier: white Fancy Cakes, with a pink rose bud in center
On the top Tier: chocolate cookies
The scones were made from a mix, bought from Victorian House Sconces
I made the scones bite size to sample the two types scones
Garnish: with pink roses, and peppermint leaves
I floated pink roses in the off white soup tureen
This soup tureen was given to by Becky at Holiday In The Sun
The top is so lovely but decided not to use it today.

I love this view of the large oak trees, the bird bath, and my goose
Gentleman’s blue is one of my favorite colors, my kitchen is decorated in this color.
I used a gentleman’s blue iron table, with the gentleman’s blue old ladder back chairs I painted.
Fifteen years ago, I took fabric and tore it into strips and wove the rag seats in each chair
Pierced Heart Tea Set on a round aluminum tray with a doily,
sitting on a iron plant stand covered with my off white shawl

I hope you enjoyed my Cream Tea in My Rose Garden

Thank you all for linking up each week, as I continue to recover from my surgery, many have asked how my daddy and I are doing. We both are not well yet, Daddy breathing better, and I hope soon he well.
Since my fall, I have had a few complications, working on trying to get my strength back.
I’m not there yet, but hopeful soon.
Our Old General Store/Cafe will soon be ready to open, I can’t wait to show you some photos of it.
